David Hughes LICSW

David Hughes has been a licensed independent clinical social worker for 10 years.  He works full time as a middle school social worker and has a part time private practice in Andover MA working with teens, young adults and families.  In his private practice David specializes in working with teens and young adults on the autistic spectrum and well as clients with a variety of mood and anxiety disorders.  David has a special interest in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat clients with a variety of mood and anxiety disorders.  In addition, he is currently investigating the positive relationship that diet and exercise have on stress reduction, improved mood, attention, physical health, and optimal learning. 




     



Helen Fitzgerald MS, CCC-SLP

Helen is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).  She is she is accredited by the Massachusetts Professional Licensing Board and holds a teaching license in Communication Disorders from the Massachusetts Department of Education. Helen has pursued additional training from Michelle Garcia Winner in the growing field of Social Thinking.  With this training, Helen has implemented social therapy in individual and group settings.  Helen has worked with adolescents in both public and private school settings, providing services in executive functions, time management, study skills and strategies, self regulation, and self advocacy. 

Together, David and Helen have been co-leading middle and high school age groups for adolescents with social/emotional and communication disorders, helping them manage their stressful lives for eight years.
